About Me
I’m Neal Leonard, a 54-year-old amateur wildlife photographer based in Warwickshire. After spending 24 years in a full-time career within the motor industry, I’ve turned my lifelong love of the outdoors and birdwatching into a new creative journey behind the lens.
Bird spotting has been a passion of mine since childhood, and today I combine that enthusiasm with photography to capture moments of wild beauty. My favourite subjects are kingfishers, kestrels, and peregrine falcons — birds that inspire me with their speed, colour, and character.
I’m also a proud father of one, and I’ve found that time spent in nature not only fuels my photography but also brings a sense of balance and peace to daily life. Whether it’s walking through local reserves or exploring new landscapes, I’m always looking for those fleeting moments that reveal the spirit of wildlife.
I began my photography journey in May 2025, and I’m learning with every outing. My current kit includes a Canon EOS 40D and Canon EOS 700D, paired with a Sigma 150-600mm lens and a Tamron 70-300mm lens — versatile tools that allow me to capture birds both near and far.
Through my images, I hope to share not only the beauty of the birds themselves but also the experience of being out in nature: the stillness, the anticipation, and the thrill of seeing wildlife in its element.
